Public Art - Howard COunty, MD, 2025

Commissioned by Howard County as part of a county-wide beautification initiative, I designed and installed two permanent vinyl murals for existing bus shelters. One at Howard Community College in Columbia, and the other in Elkridge, MD. Both works were conceived as a cohesive series, transforming everyday transit structures into vibrant, engaging public art pieces that celebrate local identity.

Spanning over 140 and 170 square feet respectively, each design incorporates flowing lines and dynamic shapes to echo the rhythm of movement and energy inherent to public transportation. Drawing inspiration from Howard County’s agricultural roots and native wildlife, the murals feature symbolic imagery tailored to each location. While the Columbia shelter focuses on visual harmony and broad regional representation, the Elkridge mural introduces distinct elements specific to its surrounding environment.

In both projects, I led the entire process, from concept development and illustration to file preparation and on-site installation, ensuring the final works were site-specific, durable, and visually impactful. In addition to enhancing the daily experience for transit riders, the murals contribute to a sense of place, climate control inside the shelters, and broader community connection.

“Tapestry of Unity” is a vibrant public artwork installed at 4th and M St. SW in Washington, D.C., created as a permanent vinyl wrap. The digital composition celebrates the spirit of Southwest D.C. through a harmonious blend of nature, community, and iconic architecture. Centered around the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge, an emblem of connection and progress, the artwork features blooming cherry blossoms to represent renewal and the arrival of spring. Mallard ducks glide along the Anacostia River, adding a sense of calm beneath the silhouette of the Washington Monument. At the center, seven diverse figures stand united, symbolizing the neighborhood’s inclusive and multicultural identity. This piece captures the rich cultural mosaic of Southwest D.C., reflecting its ongoing commitment to unity, resilience, and collective pride.

 "BGE” Electric Box

Invited by the City of Towson, MD's artistic Creative Partnership to paint municipal structures downtown in a city-wide initiative to offer a creative vision into the cityscape, 2020-2022.

The “Flower Box” initiative was part of a campaign to bring public art directly to the people while beautifying the downtown region. Themes range from nature-inspired to abstract, to directly complementing the adjacent businesses. The project fostered a deep sense of community.

The classic "BGE” Electric Box was also included in the initiative.

The project got the first page of The Towson Times and a full online article at the Baltimore Sun.
