Camila Leão is a visual artist based in Baltimore, Maryland, whose creative work spans illustration, painting, murals, public art, and graphic design. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Camila infuses her work with dynamic energy, characterized by vibrant colors, intricate textures, and fluid forms. Her portfolio boasts a diverse array of projects, from illustrations in Baltimore Magazine to the design of the Essex, MD municipal lighthouse monument to 77-foot commercial murals. With a keen eye for detail, Camila has crafted numerous portraits, capturing the essence of both humans and animals alike, alongside extensive work in graphic design/ branding.
Rooted in her deeply-held convictions, Camila's art serves as a platform for themes close to her heart, including community, cooperation, diversity, empowerment, environmental awareness, liberation, and empathy. Her creations resonate with a spirit of inclusivity, inviting viewers to engage with issues of significance while celebrating the beauty of interconnectedness. Before moving to Baltimore, I began my career working with fine artists, musicians and graphic design agencies.
My art depicts my connection to the surrounding nature and world, as is inspired by my South American origins.
My work is featured on various surfaces, including canvases, street/city structures, and digital formats.
